What is a composite door?Composite doors are made from materials such as PVC, wood, insulating foam and Glass Reinforced Plastic. The outer frame is made from PVCu and has galvanised steel for reinforcement. The door itself has insulating foam injected into it to provide insulation and prevention of heat loss, The surface is made from GRP (Glass reinforced plastic) to make sure it does not warp, crack or twist.

How do I get a new door?On our website, you can use our online door designer to create your ideal door from scratch. Click request a quote and we will price accordingly. If price is accepted, we will pop out to measure up. Alternatively, you can organise a site visit where a surveyor will come out with brochures and colour samples for you to choose from.

Are composite doors better than upvc?Firstly, they are a solid slab, which means great security, energy efficiency and a solid looking and feeling door. UPVC doors are more flimsy, can be broken easily and in general and are likely to be phased out with regulations in the coming years.

Are composite doors well insulated?Yes, composite doors are very well insulated. They retain 8 x more heat than traditional timber doors and have far better draught-proofing properties.

What sizes of door do you offer?All of our doors are made to measure due to all openings being different. Customers can order the size bespoke to their requirement. Our price given is for the very minimum width to the maximum width.

Do the doors come with a frame?Yes, all doors are supplied pre-hung in the frame ready to install.

What is a split spindle handle?With the split spindle l handle system when your door is closed the centre latch will not be released by moving the outside handle. A key is always required to open the door from the outside.

What is the lead time?From deposit to installation, our lead time is 3-4 weeks.

How do I order?We require a 50% deposit prior to ordering. Once this is paid we will get the door on order.

How do I pay for an order?We accept payment via BACs or by debit/credit card.

How long do the composite doors last?According to data from the Housing Association Provident Mutual and the Building Research Establishment, our composite doors are expected to last 35 years, if moving parts are oiled yearly. Warranty with us lasts for 5 years.

Are composite doors thermally efficient?Yes, all of our composite doors achieve a U-value and an energy rating (ranging from A-D). Selecting for a thermal upgrade when ordering your door will ensure a rating of C or above. Please contact us for more information on the specific door style U-values and energy ratings as these differ depending on style and chosen options. It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the product being ordered is compliant for its intended use.

How much does a composite door cost?The cost of composite door shop doors is dependent on several different factors, such as composite door style, composite door colour, composite door hardware, composite door security extras. The easiest and fastest way to determine the cost of a composite door for your property, is to use our composite door designer. Once designed, you will receive a quote within 24 hours (always check junk folder if not in your inbox within this time frame).
